Financial adviser, firm principal, buyer and seller.
Brian has spent the last twenty years inside the IFA sector — not advising about it from the outside. He has been a financial adviser, a firm principal, a buyer, and a seller. He built a business from a single adviser to over 100 staff and has overseen in excess of £650 million in acquisitions across the UK and international market.
His relationships span the full spectrum of the market, from global asset managers and platforms to UK consolidators and acquirers, and international buyers and sellers, among many others.
He understands valuation mechanics, deal structures, earnout risk, and what a buyer needs to see before they commit, because he has been that buyer. He also understands what a seller is really giving up, because he has been that seller too. That direct, personal experience is not a footnote. It is the foundation of everything he brings to this process.
A sale is sensitive. Conversations are held in confidence, and information moves only when you say it should.
Valuations and structures based on how transactions actually work — earn-outs, risk and what a buyer needs to see — not textbook multiples.
An honest view of value, readiness and risk, including when it is not what you hoped to hear — direct, but always polite.
Brian leads every engagement himself, drawing on specialists from his network when a deal needs them.
Brian draws on a trusted network of specialists when a transaction calls for it. When a deal needs capacity or expertise beyond his own, that network is engaged directly.
